- Eliminate meta-discourse,
writing about writing.
Delete "I am going to argue that…" Just do it.
- Save "there is/it is" for the podium effect.

Delete "there is/are" and "it is" unless you REALLY want to emphasize the word following "it is." "It is IMPERATIVE that we act immediately." Hear the emphasis? |
