The
Writing Process
Faigely, The Brief Penguin Handbook
|
 |
While
presented here in neat and orderly steps, the writing process is actually
a fluid and changing experience. In other words, each step of the writing
process can move you forward to completing a piece of writing or backward
in terms of rethinking, reshaping, and revising that piece of writing.
Don't be afraid to let the process take you back to the beginning. The
more you know about each formal step of the writing process, the greater
your ability to make decisions about the way you approach writing and
revision.
It
is crucial that you understand the important stages that come before
and after you write your first draft.
