What's the purpose of Chicago Style?

  • Documentation of sources is necessary not just in research papers but in any written work that contains information from or references to texts outside itself.

  • Chicago Style is used in many humanities disciplines, and serves as an alternative to the APA and MLA styles. This style uses an unnumbered title page, endnotes, and a bibliography rather than parenthetical citations and a works cited page.
